The Medicare Rights Center  (MRC) which is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that older adults and people with disabilities get good, affordable health care. The MRC website http://www.medicarerights.org/Index.html offers helpful and reliable Medicare information for consumers and professionals.
 

Medicare can be confusing and answers to questions can be hard to find. Get the answers to your questions online. Here, we (MRC)provide an introduction to Medicare. You can choose specific topics of interest from the sidebar on the left of your screen. Sections address "What Is Medicare", "Enrolling in Medicare", "What Medicare Covers", "Preventative Care Benefits", "Medicare Options", "Choosing A Plan", "Solving Problems", "Medicare Q&A" and other information!

The Home Care Channel

The Home Care Channel is designed to educate consumers, their families, caregivers, professional counselors and clinicians about Medicare hospice and home health benefits for those with advanced illnesses.

The following tools will be available (so check this site later) on the channel in the next phase of development:

  • Interactive decision-trees that will provide consumers with information tailored to their needs and circumstances.

  • Online tutorial about Medicare home health and hospice for professionals. The tutorial will include a virtual presentation, case worksheets, resource guides, and checklists. After completion of tutorial, users can download the presentation and related materials so that they can conduct their own presentations on the Medicare home health and hospice benefits.

  • E-mail technical assistance to both professionals and consumers.

  • Chat Rooms conducted on a monthly basis for consumers and professionals to share issues, problems and solutions with an MRC expert

Let's Learn Medicare!, MRC's new training and reference manual, helps professionals conduct effective, easy-to-understand Medicare presentations (HDSA/HD Chapters/Support too?)

The Medicare Rights Center (MRC), in partnership with the Center for Medicare Education and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, has developed a Medicare training and reference manual for counselors, social workers, and other professionals who work with older adults and people with disabilities with Medicare. With its eight Medicare training modules, Let's Learn Medicare! will enable professionals to give customized presentations on a variety of topics, including Medicare basics, Medicare appeals, Medicare options, and Medicare rights.
